Our
Story
500 Women Scientists was created to promote and support women in science and science communication. Currently, more than 20'000 women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from over 100 countries have pledged to build an inclusive scientific community dedicated to training a more diverse group of future leaders in science and using the language of science to bridge divides and enhance global diplomacy (for more information click here).
500 Women Scientists is a global community composed of groups (pods) focusing on gender and minority-related issues on a local scale.
The Zurich pod was established in 2018 by Darcy Molnar.
Currently working on our coordination team: Darcy Molnar, Vanessa Leite, Gina Cannarozzi and Sema Karakurt-Fischer.
We also receive mentoring and support from Prof. Dr. Janet Hering.
If you want to know more, contact us or join our pod!
We proudly represent 500WS in Switzerland together with our sister pod in Fribourg-Bern.
